An executry
service that is skilfully and compassionately delivered

Have you been named as the executor of a loved one’s will? At such an emotional and difficult time, overseeing the executry process can be a task that is as stressful and anxiety-inducing as it is laborious and confusing.

Thankfully, this is an area in which we have considerable expertise, which puts us in an excellent position to be your guide throughout the entire process as you deal with the details and legal implications of administering the deceased’s estate.

There are two types of estate, and we can support you, the executor, in both of them. We’ve gone into a little further depth below.

Testate Estate

A testate estate is when the individual who has died has left a will. The executors of the estate are named in the will, and the instructions for how the deceased’s assets shall be distributed are also detailed.

Shiells can support you in winding up the estate, helping you to understand and fulfil the various legal requirements that form a part of the executry process.

Intestate Estate

When a person dies intestate, no will has been left behind. The distribution of the deceased’s estate can be lengthier and more complex as a result. However, Shiells are here to help. We will apply to the court on your behalf to have an executor appointed, and we will support you fully throughout the ensuing process.

Part of this service includes ensuring you meet all legal obligations, valuing the estate as well as calculating and paying inheritance tax, and helping you to resolve ay disputes that arise between the deceased’s relatives.
